SYSTEMS ENGINEERING At ISG, we view systems engineering as both an art and a science. The most important part of systems engineering is the coordination and collaboration of stakeholders to both understand their needs and design solutions to meet those needs. In addition to our expert Agile Engineering, we place significant focus on the engagement process. We use Lean Thinking and Human Centered Design to guide our engineers during stakeholder engagement. At ISG, we are comfortable discussing solutions with Agency Leadership as well as Subject Matter Experts who execute the mission every day. This dynamic-active approach to listening using Appreciative Inquiry leads to defining true mission needs and value-based solutions.
SYSTEMS INTEGRATION ISG operates at the boundary between a customer's needs and a builder’s solution. By translating needs to requirements and bringing a true understanding of solution implementation, we Reduce Integration Time to deploy capabilities. We jump start the integration process from test through transition-to-operations by understanding the underlying solution-based technology. ISG combines elements of strategic planning, risk management, and quality assurance to deliver Rapid Systems Integration solutions.
SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE Effective system architectures are necessary to effectively verify and validate the capabilities that programs deliver to the IC and DoD. System-level functional, performance, and interface requirements on their own are insufficient for IC and DoD agencies to deliver capabilities that are well-integrated into operational environments. Delivering the right capabilities, at the right time, in the right way for analysts and warfighters requires characterizing system-level requirements in the broader operational and system-of-systems context in which they exist. ISG develops system-level DoDAF artifacts with mission and program stakeholder input that enable delivery of capabilities that meet both the letter and intent of a program’s requirements baseline.
ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE At ISG, we believe enterprise architecture must be more than shelf-ware. ISG utilizes enterprise architecture as a powerful tool to drive alignment between IC and DoD components and provide a valuable guide providing programs with context to shape how enterprise capabilities are delivered. While enterprise architecture is important for compliance with DNI and OSD policy, agencies do not often utilize the full potential of agency reference architectures drive alignment and integration across programs. We work with our customers to ensure DoDAF artifacts are accurate, complete, and well maintained to provide traceability to DNI and OSD priorities and utility for guiding cross-program integration.
CLOUD ARCHITECTURE ISG delivers hybrid and cloud-native solution architectures for IC and DoD customers that maximize performance for mission utility while making cost effective use of managed services offered by cloud providers. The IC and DoD require scalable, resilient cloud architectures to ensure stable performance for mission applications as user bases grow or surge unexpectedly. ISG works hand-in-hand with customers to understand the concept of operations for mission applications and edge cases that may drive or constrain performance needs. Our engineers and architects leverage that knowledge to inform delivery of implementations that are suitable and effective for the mission.
DIGITAL ENGINEERING We use Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to design, analyze, and manage complex systems by developing models to represent a given systems components and interfaces. Our engineers visualize and analyze the system's components and their interactions, leading to improved design decisions, better risk management, and enhanced outcomes.
PROPOSAL CONSULTING Proposal writing is an art form. Most small businesses fail to win prime work because they don’t know how to translate customer insight, technical knowledge, and value-added capabilities into proposal narrative that will score.
